7.9. Filling the tank with agrochemical solution
Before preparing the agrochemical for spraying, read closely the labels and instructions to prepare and handle it.
To avoid agrochemical waste and contamination, make sure the draining cap is firmly tightened before pouring the agrochemical
solution into the tank.
Fill the agrochemical tank on a level surface and always use the tank filter.
7.10. Triple rinsing empty agrochemical containers and tank
NOTE: Even containers considered empty contain agrochemical residues. Therefore, disposing of containers without washing off the
residues is extremely dangerous for people, animals and the environment. In case of metal, plastic or glass agrochemical containers,
each one must be triple rinsed to ensure residues are completely rinsed away. This manual describes how to triple rinse the containers
correctly, safely and efficiently.
a. Immediately after emptying the container, keep it upside down on the sprayer tank filler neck or on a bucket used to prepare
the agrochemical solution for at least 30 seconds until there is no more liquid in the container.
b. Keep the container vertically and fill 1/4 of it with water. For example: in a 1000-ml container, add 250 ml of water
c. Insert the container cap and tighten it enough to prevent spilling while shaking it.
d. Shake the container in all directions (horizontally and vertically) for approximately 30 seconds to remove the residues inside
the container.
e. Remove the container cap carefully, pour the rinsing water in the spraying tank.
f. Hold the container on the spraying tank filler neck for approximately 30 until the last drop.
g. Repeat this operation two (02) more times. After that, the triple rinsing is complete.
h. Cut some holes on the plastic and metal containers with a sharp tool to prevent them from being used again. Their labels should
not be ripped for future identification.
When filling the tank with agrochemical solution, make sure to use the tank filter. Any foreign substance or powder can cause prob-
lems in the pump and nozzle.
To triple rinse the tank and the hose, follow the instructions on item 10.4. After operating the sprayer.
7.11. Checking if all nuts and bolts are firmly tightened
If necessary, tighten the bolts and nuts properly.
7.12. Checking for leaks in the pump
After checking the engine, check the pump fittings for agrochemical leaks.
