operating, servicing or repairing this tool. Keep these
instructions in an accessible place.
Safety Messages
Snap-on Tools Company provides safety messages
to cover reasonable situations that may be
encountered when operating, servicing or repairing
air tools. It is the responsibility of operators and
servicing technicians to be knowledgeable about the
procedures, tools and materials used, and to satisfy
themselves that the procedures, tools and materials
will not compromise their safety, that of others in the
work place or the tool.
Power Tool Safety Messages
Snap-on power tools may contain chemicals known
to the State of California to cause cancer, birth
defects, or other reproductive harm.
Improper use of power tools and accessories can
cause broken tools.
• Read and understand these instructions before
operating, repairing, or working near the grinder.
Failure to do so can result in serious bodily injury.
• Be sure these instructions accompany the tool
when passed from one user to a new or
inexperienced user.
• Tools shall be inspected periodically to verify that
ratings, markings, and labels are legible.
• Do not remove any labels. Replace all damaged
labels.
• Contact Snap-on Tools Company to obtain
replacement labels.

• Wear safety goggles, user and bystanders.

assessed for each use.

• Operate and maintain the tool as recommended
in this document to prevent an unnecessary
increase in noise.
• Always ensure that the tool's silencer is in place and
in good working order before operating the tool.
• Wear warm clothing when working in cold
conditions and keep your hands warm and dry.
Prolonged exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.

• Avoid prolonged exposure to vibration, repetitive
motions and uncomfortable positions.
• Stop using the tool if discomfort, tingling feeling
or pain occurs. Seek medical advice before
resuming use.

• When using a grinder, the operator should adopt
a comfortable posture while maintaining secure
footing and avoiding awkward or off-balanced
postures. The operator should change posture
during extended tasks as this can help prevent
discomfort and fatigue.
• If the operator experiences symptoms, such as
persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, aching,
tingling, numbness, burning, or stiffness these
signs should not be ignored. The operator should
notify the employer and consult a qualified health
professional.
• Operate and maintain the tool as recommended
in this document to prevent an increase in
vibration levels.
• Do not allow the wheel to chatter on the work
piece as this will likely cause a substantial
increase in vibration.
• Select, maintain and replace the consumables as
recommended in this document to prevent an
increase in vibration.
• Support the mass of the tool in a stand or
balancer if possible.
• Hold the tool with a light but safe grip, knowing
that the grip must be sufficient to counter reaction
forces but that a tight grip with increase the
amount of vibration transferred to the operator.
• Use blotters if they are provided with the grinding
wheel.
