• When tool is not in use, shut off the air supply
and press trigger or lever to relieve air pressure.
• If tool is not to be used for a period of time,
lubricate it, disconnect it from the air supply line
and store it in a dry place with moderate
temperature.
• Air under pressure can cause severe injury.

and disconnect the tool when not in use and
before changing wheels or making repairs.

• Whenever universal twist couplings (claw

• Do not modify or make temporary repairs. Use
only genuine Snap-on replacement parts for
maintenance and repair.
• Servicing and repairs should be performed only
by trained personnel.
• Do not use the tool if it vibrates too much, makes
unusual noises, has loose parts, or shows any
other sign of damage.
• If tool malfunctions, discontinue use and
immediately arrange for service and repair. If it
is not practical to remove the tool from service,
shut off the tool air supply, write a warning tag
and attach the tag to the tool.
• Do not remove any manufacturer fitted safety
devices (e.g., wheel guards, safety trigger,
speed governors).
• If this tool becomes damaged beyond repair,
disassemble and degrease the tool. Then
separate all parts by material type and recycle.

Wheel Grinder Safety
Unguarded grinders cannot protect operator for
exploding grinding wheels or accidental contact with
the grinding wheels.
• When cutting off, the work piece should be held
so that the cutting is kept at a constant or
increasing width during the cut.
• If the wheel becomes jammed in the cutting slot,
shut the grinder off and try to ease the wheel free.
Do not attempt to operate the grinder while
freeing the wheel. Check that the wheel is still
properly attached and not damaged. Not all
wheel damage is visible; if excessive force is
required to remove the wheel it should be
replaced to prevent wheel failure.
• DO NOT operate the grinder with out a proper
guard properly installed. DO NOT remove the
guard for any reason. If the guard becomes
damaged, replace it immediately.
• Ensure that sparks and debris resulting from use
do not create hazards.
Exploding grinding wheels or accidental contact with
rotating grinding wheels can cause injury.
Rotating grinding wheels can cause cuts and abrasions.
• Keep hands and other body parts away from
grinding wheels to prevent cutting or pinching.
Wear protective clothing and gloves to protect
hands.
• Where abrasive products are supplied or used
with reducing adaptors the user shall ensure that
the adaptor does not contact the surface of the
flange. In addition it shall be the duty of the user
to ensure that the clamping force is sufficient to
prevent the wheel from slipping.
• Avoid direct contact with the wheel during and
after use as it can be hot or sharp.
• Store and handle the wheel with care in accordance
with the wheel manufacturer's instructions.
Contact with rotating grinding wheels can cause injury.
Grinding metals creates sparks that can ignite
flammable materials and vapors.
• Only grind metals if the area is free of combustible
or explosive materials or vapors.
• Grinding sparks can ignite clothing and cause
severe burns. Ensure sparks do not land on
clothing. Wear fire-retardant clothing and have a
bucket of water nearby.
Explosions and fire can cause injury.
Overspeeding wheels can explode.
• Check the speed rating of the accessory or the
speed printed on the wheel. This speed must be
greater than the nameplate speed of the grinder
and the actual speed of the grinder as measured
