Change to mulching
With mulch, the grass is cut and then � nely
chopped and left on the lawn as a natural
fertiliser.
If you use the mulch setting, the grass should
be dry, as it may otherwise not be pulverised
correctly.
In order to change the discharge setting to
mulch, lift the spring-loaded � ap on the side
of the lawnmower's skirt (12) and hold it
open.
Remove the side discharge from the
lawnmower and lower the spring-loaded � ap
again so that it closes the opening in the side
of the skirt.
Re� lling with fuel
Remove the fuel cap (8) from the fuel tank
and � ll up with 95 octane lead-free petrol.
Wipe up any spilled fuel. Replace the fuel cap
and check that it will not come loose during
use.
Check for fuel leaks.
Starting the engine
Check the oil level before starting.
When starting a cold engine, push the
throttle to the START position.
Pull the safety control handle (2) in towards
the handlebar.
Pull the starter handle (16) out 10-15 cm until
you feel resistance. Then pull hard on the
starter handle.
It may be necessary to pull the starter handle
several times before the engine starts.
Be aware that the blade rotates once the
engine is running!
