Push the throttle to the RUN position as soon
as the engine is warm enough. Allow the
engine to warm up for a few minutes before
use.
If you release the safety control handle, the
engine will stop immediately.
Mowing
Set and start the lawnmower as described
above.
Push the lawnmower forward and cut the
grass evenly and systematically. Leave an
overlap of a few centimetres between the
lines to avoid missing areas.
If the lawnmower leaves tufts of grass
behind, run more slowly over them and/or
increase the cutting height.
Stop the engine before removing any grass
tufts from the lawnmower's side discharge
or skirt!
Tip!
Always ensure you can see what you are
doing. Never cut the grass in the dark or poor
visibility and take extra care around house
corners.
Always cut across the face of slopes, never
up and down. Be careful when changing
direction on slopes. Be very careful when
clipping near walls, thick branches, wire
fencing or other obstructions.
48
Stop the engine before running the
lawnmower over gravel, agstones, paving
stones, asphalt or similar.
Cleaning
Wipe all plastic and painted parts of the
lawnmower with a damp cloth.
Apply an acid-free oil or lubricating spray to
all moving parts.
Remove the spark plug cap (13) from the
spark plug to avoid starting the engine
accidentally and tilt the front of the
lawnmower up.
The lawnmower must be tilted no more than
45°. The fuel tank must be empty or nearly
empty otherwise the fuel may run out!
Rinse the underside of the skirt free of grass
and dirt using a hose with a jet nozzle tted.
Avoid touching the engine with the water jet!
Any jammed grass or dirt can be removed
using a wooden or plastic scraper.
If the lawnmower is set for mulch, you can
also rinse the skirt and blade by connecting
a hose with a connector to the washing
connector (10) on top of the lawnmower's
skirt.
