HITCHING PROCEDURE
WARNING:
DO NOT TOW WITHOUT BAIL PIN INSTALLED.
NOTICE:
If the Flag blocks the hole for the Bail Pin, the trailer has not been properly connected
to the hitch. DO NOT TOW! Repeat the "Hitching Procedure" until trailer is properly
hitched.
NOTE:
Do not tow the trailer until the pull test has been successfully completed.
10. Connect the trailer electrical cable between the truck and trailer.
11. Connect the breakaway switch cable from the pin box to a permanent part of the
truck.
CAUTION:
Whenever possible, avoid placing your body under the trailer or between the truck and
trailer. If it becomes necessary to work between the truck and the trailer, follow the
guidelines outlined in the following step.
12. If it becomes necessary to work between the truck and the trailer use the following
guidelines for safety.
• Verify that the truck transmission is in park.
• Make sure the emergency brake is on.
• Place wheel chocks in front of and behind all trailer tires.
• Verify that the trailer landing gear are resting on firm ground.
