UNHITCHING PROCEDURE
6. Remove the Bail Pin from the Head Handle, pull the Handle straight out to the
open position and toward the truck tailgate to lock into place.
7. Trailer is now free from the Hitch and truck. If the Handle does not pull out, there
may be pressure against the Jaw.
• To relieve pressure, it may be necessary to Neutralize, slightly back up or pull the
truck slightly forward.
• To further relieve pressure, use trailer jacks or landing gear to slightly lift and
reduce pin weight off the Head assembly.
• Reset the truck emergency brake after these maneuvers have been completed.
CAUTION:
Make sure the front and rear of the truck and trailer are clear of any obstacles until the
trailer is free from the Hitch.
8. Slowly drive the truck slowly away from the trailer.
9. The Hitch Jaw automatically closes as the King Pin is removed from the Head
• Keep the wheel chocks in place to prevent the trailer from moving unexpectedly.
