Before starting work on the pump, make sure that the pump is isolated from the power supply and
cannot be energized.
•
Don't work under a suspended load.
•
Check local electrical and building codes before installation. The installation must be in accordance
with their regulations as well as the most recent National Electrical Code (NEC), Occupational Safety
and Health Act (OSHA), and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
Risk of bodily injury or damage to pump or other equipment.
•
Make sure that the machine or parts of the machine cannot roll or fall over and injure people or dam-
age property.
•
Check that lifting equipment complies with all safety rules, and is suitable to support the weight of
the pump.
•
When carrying out repair work take care to avoid injury by cutting or pinching.
•
Make sure you have a first-aid box near at hand.
•
Keep safety labels clean and in good condition.
•
Keep work area clean, well-lit, and uncluttered.
•
Use proper PPE.
Risk of damage to pump or other equipment.
•
Carry out the work on a sturdy surface that can support the full weight of the pump.
•
Check that tools and other equipment are in good condition.
