Parts identification and
their functions
@ Power switch
m stand-by: This symbol indicates the "stand-by" mode.
Power is still supplied to the turntable but not
to the circuits.
mon:
This symbol indicates "on". Push to switch the
unit on. Push again to switch the unit to the
stand-by mode.
When power is switched on, the tonearm position indicator,
cueing control
indicator
(orange)
and Gdusrre

( = ) illuminate.

When power (mains) is switched on, the Gusarrz

@ Program mode indicator (
)
The
program
mode
indicator
is
illuminated
during
programming operation or program play. After program play
has finished, the indicator goes out.

forward/backward skip operation.

Theskip indicator goes out when record play is resumed.
e When forward/backward skip is activated, the skip mode
indicator illuminates for only an instant.
@Record groove scale
Ascale with 1 mm graduations that is useful for determining
the tonearm position.
@Toneaim position indicator (V)
Shows the approximate tonearm position at all times.
O Cartridge
@Stop/clear button (stop-clear O)
Press to stop record play and cancel the program.

The tonearm will move to the rest position and the platter
will stop rotating (auto-return, auto-stop).

If the turntable
is in the program
mode,
all program
settings will be cancelled.
@ Start button (<j start)
Press to begin record play.

The tonearm will move to the specified start position and
record play will begin.

When
this button.is
pressed
during
record
play, the
tonearm will return to the start position and begin record
play again (auto-return).
During program
record play,
record play will be resumed from the first programmed
song.
@ Forward
and
backward
skip/search
buttons
(Id skip search 1)
Press

to skip forward
or backward
directly
to the
beginning of the next song, or
for search operation in
which the tonearm moves forward or backward.
Press the k])skip/search button for skip or search operation
in the forward direction.
Press the skip/searchr>$ button for skip or search operation
in the backward direction.
The function of these buttons differ according to how long it
is pressed.
How to press the buttons
1. Press for under one second. (

®) | For skip operation:
1. Press the forward or backward skip/search button for an
instant (less than one secona).
2. Then
press the program
button corresponding
to the
number
of songs to be skipped.
Remember
that the
current song is not included in the skip count in the
forward direction but is included in the skip count in the
backward direction.
For search operation:
1. Hold down the forward or backward skip/search button
for more than one second. The tonearm will move in the
corresponding direction while the button is held down,
slowly at first (about one second) and then rapidly.
2. Release the button when the tonearm has reached the
desired point.
3. Press the cueing button to lower the tonearm.
@ Cueing button and cueing indicators

Press to raise and lower the tonearm.

During record play, the green indicator is illuminated to
show that the tonearm is down.

{fthis button is pressed during record play, the tonearm
will rise and the orange indicator will illuminate.
@ Repeat button and repeat indicator ( "epeat )
Press
to activate
the
repeat
play function
(indicator
illuminates). Press again to cancel the repeat play function
(indicator goes out).
If the repeat mode is used with the program record play
function, the programmed songs can be heard repeatedly.
