WATER REQUIREMENTS
Water represents about 98% of the brew; quality of water is crucial to brew quality drinks, and
also plays an important role in how much deposit of calcium, lime or scale will buildup in the
brewer. While formation of deposits is a natural consequence of heating the water, manufacturer
recommends water with hardness between 1.5 and 5gpg (grains per gallon) to help maintain
best performance. Do not use distilled or purified water.
Manufacturer recommends that a filter be installed between the brewer and the municipality,
and periodically maintained; any cost or damage resulting from calcium, lime or deposits
buildups in the brewer is not covered by warranty.
Recommended filters are the Omnipure Q5486, the Bunn EQ-17-TL, or similar.
