17 Remove retaining ring (8), packing
washer (7) and u-cup packing (6) from
gland nut (4).
NOTE
When installing u-cup seal (6), into
gland nut (4), seal lips must face down
toward foot valve end of pump tube.
When installing plunger rod, (3), into
gland nut, (4), rod must be inserted
from top side of pump into gland nut.
Never insert plunger rod (3), into
gland nut (4), from bottom side, against
lips of u-cup seal (6), or seal damage
may result.
18 Remove bushing and plunger (26) from
adapter (22).
19 Remove ball (23) from adapter (22).
20 Remove pin (25) and ball (24) from
bushing and plunger (26).
21 Remove cotter pins (20) from connecting
rod (21).
NOTE
Model 85201 does not have (24) and
(25).
22 Remove adapter (22) and plunger (3)
from connecting rod (21).
NOTE
Models 84997 and 84998 have an
adapter (19) between plunger (3) and
connecting rod (21)
23 To reassemble pump, reverse disassem-
bly procedure. Refer to illustration for
torque specifications.
