Routing
The exhaust outlet must be positioned in such a way that exhaust gases may not enter the vehicle interior or
external living space. The diagram below shows the area where the exhaust flue must not be located.
If the flue is fitted at a distance which is closer to the window than indicated above in Figure 3, a window
circuit-breaker switch must be installed that shuts off the LPG gas supply to the heater when the window is
opened.
Do not route exhaust components within 50 mm of flammable materials such as fuel system components,
polyurethane or similar foam insulation, styrene sheet installation, wood and paper products, carpet, glycol
reservoirs, coolant lines, brake lines, electrical wiring, etc.
The flues must be routed in such a way to prevent liquid build up. See Section 4.3 Step 2 for underfloor in-
stalls, and Section 4.3 Step 3b for onboard installs
The flue terminal must always face outward away from the vehicle.
The flue terminal must be located at the side of the caravan. Acceptable flue lengths are, 0.75 metres,
•
1.25 metres and 2.00 metres.
•
The flue terminal must be positioned at the side of the vehicle, that an awning will never be fitted to.
•
Only the Whale
this Water Heater. This flue must not be positioned within 500mm of a refuelling point or fuel tank breather
outlet or any ventilator from the fuel system(s). The flue terminal must not be fitted within 300mm of a
ventilator for the living space or an opening part of a window.
•
The flue terminal must only be positioned vertically below an open part of a window, if the appliance is
fitted with an automatic shut-off device to prevent operation when the window is open. The flue terminal
must be a minimum of 300mm below the window.
