Introduction
Turn on your multimeter
To power ON your multimeter, turn the rotary switch to any position other than
model number of your multimeter and its firmware version are shown on the primary
display and secondary display respectively.

To power OFF your multimeter, turn the rotary switch to the
Automatic power-off
Your multimeter automatically turns off if the following actions do not take place within the
set duration (refer to "Changing the Auto Power-Off and backlight timeouts" on page
for more information):
– The rotary switch is moved.
– A key is pressed.
– The multimeter is in MaxMin mode (see "Capturing Maximum and Minimum Values
(MaxMin)" on page 102).
– The multimeter is in Peak Hold mode (see "Capturing Peak Values (Peak)" on
page 104).
The following actions will turn the multimeter back on after it is powered off automatically:
– Pressing any key on the keypad.
– Restarting the multimeter by turning the rotary knob to
desired measurement function.
– Turning the rotary knob to another measurement function.
Enabling the backlight
If viewing the display becomes difficult in low-light conditions, press
backlight for the LCD and the keypad.
