3. Pull the chain with slight force to within 1/8 of the bottom of the guide bar and release (see Figure 3). If the
chain snaps slightly into place, the tension is correct. A slight sag (1/16" or less) between the chains and the
bottom of the guide bar is acceptable.
Adjusting saw chain tension
Loosen the guide bar screw before adjusting the chain (see Figure 4 )

Turn the adjusting screw at the front of the feed head clockwise until the slack is out of the chain (see Figure 5 )

3. Wearing protective gloves, pull on the chain to check the chain tension.
4. Do not over-tension the chain. Over-tensioning will cause excessive wear and reduce the life of the guide bar
and chain.
5. Once the chain tension is correct, tighten the guide bar screw securely (see Figure 6)
