Refer to Figure 1 using the following steps.
1. Loosen and remove the guide bar screw.
2. Remove the sprocket cover
3. Remove the saw chain
4. Place the new chain around the drive sprocket, along the top groove of the guide bar and around the nose of the
guide bar. Note: make sure the cutting edges of the chain are facing the right direction. Position the chain so
that the cutting edges are on top of the nose of the guide bar (see Figure 16 and the indicator on the side cover
of the saw).
5. Before placing the pinion cover in the positioning groove, check that the adjustment tip is in the adjustment hole
on the guide bar.
6. Place the pinion cover in the positioning groove.
7. Lock the pinion cover with the screw on the guide bar. (Important: tighten only with your fingers).
8. Adjust the chain tension.
9. Tighten the guide bar screw firmly using a hexagonal key .
CAUTION: do not place the chain on the saw upside down. If the chain is backwards, the saw will vibrate badly and
will not cut.
STORAGE SPACE
If you are storing the saw for more than 30 days, follow the steps below.
1. Empty the oil tank after each use.
2. Remove and clean the guide bar and chain. Clean the guide bar and chain by soaking them in a petroleum-based
solvent and a mixture of mild soap and water.
3. Dry guide bar and chain.
4. Place the chain in a container filled with oil. This will prevent rust.
5. Wipe a thin layer of oil from the surface of the guide bar.
6. Wipe the outside of the saw body. Do this with a soft cloth soaked in a mild soap and water mixture.
7. Store the chainsaw
in a high or closed place, out of the reach of children
