Cutting out a hole for the towing arm in the rear bumper

- Place the removed rear bumper on a soft felt pad with the inside facing up.
- Clean the surface of the rear bumper at the preshaped markings of the future hole thoroughly
with a mild detergent solution.
- 4, 5 -
- Following the workshop's good practice, cut out the hole for towing arm using a suitable tool
according the preshaped markings.
Caution! The cut must follow the preshaped line.
- Visually check the quality of the cut hole.
- If necessary, adjust and clean the hole with a suitable tool or sandpaper.
Caution! Use extreme caution when cleaning the hole (risk of injury by
the sharp edge of the hole).
Installing the towbar

- Remove the plugs from the towbar mounting holes on rear runners (both vehicles sides) -see
arrows-. Treat the area around the holes with an anti-corrosion protection in the same way
as the points on the vehicle body after crossmember removal.
- If necessary, remove the plastisol parts inside the runners

- Two persons are required for this operation.
- Push the towbar (A) by the longitudinal beams into the holes in the vehicle rear and position
it so that the axes of the screws pass approximately through the centers of the fixing holes in
the runners.
- Gently screw the beams to the vehicle chassis using the four retaining screws (B) and pull
them backwards.
- Check the position of the towbar and tighten the screws to 70 Nm + 90° -detail- in the
following sequence (screw position in travel direction):
1. Right rear
2. Right front
3. Left rear
4. Left front.
Caution! If the towbar is removed and installed again, it is necessary to
replace the fastening screws with new ones.

- Lock the socket cover (K) on the harness socket (D) - (clear click). Install the wiring socket
on the socket holder using three screws - Mu 2.5 Nm. Position the socket so that the socket
cover folds upwards. Route the harness first on the back side and then on the underside of
the towbar, attaching it using cable ties (H).
