Special Considerations for Outdoor Use
NOTE: Horizontal installations are approved for indoor use only. Vertical installations are
approved for outdoor use when the clear protective cover is installed.
1. Mount the unit vertically.
• Do not install horizontally in applications where the unit will be unprotected from
inclement weather.
2. Use the enclosed protective weather cover.
IMPORTANT: Failure to use this protective cover in outdoor installations will void the
warranty of the unit.
3. Use the reusable fastener to attach the protective weather cover over the top of the unit.
Maximum Operating Temperature
The system is equipped with two temperature sensors:
• One is installed integral to the motor to protect the motor windings.
• The other is installed in the control head and senses the internal temperature of the water.
The unit faults at a maximum temperature of 120 °F (49 °C) and turns back on when the temperature drops
below 95 °F (35 °C). Refer to
NOTE: The unit control head cannot detect a trip of the internal pump's motor faulting from an overload.
