How to Operate the Remote Control Transmitter
TELEVISION Mode
0-9 Digit buttons
With the remote conirol transmitter you can
select channels by pressing the 0-9 digit but-
tons. First, select one digit or two digits using
the single/double entry —/-- button. Then
select the programme channel numbers (1 to
99).
Channel Selector (A/V)
See Section 3, 'Channel Selection' under
"Operation of Manual Controls."
Flashback &
Returns
tuning from the currently tuned
channel to the previously selected channel.
Example: Previously viewed channel: 4
Channel being watched:
10
While watching Pr 10, press the flashback
( ©) ) button to return to Pr 4. Press the but-
ton again to resume watching Pr 10.
Note:
This
feature
is effective
only
during
programme channel selection.
Sound Volume V 31 A
Press the A button to increase the volume,
and the V button to decrease it. The on-
screen
display is identical to the display
shown when the volume is adjusted on the
TV set.

Sound Mute button
¢ When this button is pressed, the sound is
muted.
¢When this button is pressed once again,
the sound is restored.
On Screen Display
A symbol that looks like «{ appears in the
upper left corner of the screen.
Sound Tone Control ¢ /3' WOOFER
This set is equipped with three audio tone
control buttons {(
@: treble and
%*: bass
and
: woofer). Adjust them to your lik-
ing. The woofer buttons are effective only if
you connect the optional 'Super Woofer"' to
your TV set.
The same indication appears when the tre-
ble, bass, or woofer button are pressed.

Press the balance control buttons to balance
the sound from the left and right speakers.

Sound normal button N
To reset the balance, treble, bass and woofer
back to their normal levels, press the normal
button.
If the sound normal button is pressed within
3 seconds of pressing the balance, treble,
bass or woofer buttons the above indication
appears. If pressed after 3 seconds, no indi-
cation appears.
Contrast
V @ A
Press the contrast button (A) to increase pic-
ture contrast. Press the (V) button to reduce
it.
Incorrectly adjusted
picture contrast

cause eyestrain.

Press the colour button (V) so the picture
changes to black and white, then press the
{A\) button to get the best "natural colour''
If you cannot obtain natural colour, readjust
the preset tuning control.
Brightness v Tt A
Press the brightness button (A) to increase
the brightness of the picture. Press the but-
ton () to reduce it. For best reception, ad-
a the picture brightness according to room

' For resetting the colour, contrast and bright-
ness back to their normal levels, press the
N(Normal) button.
If the picture normal button is pressed within
3 seconds of pressing the contrast, colour or
brightness button, the above indication ap-
pears. If pressed after 3 seconds, no indica-
tion appears.
Off-Timer button
The off-timer function switches the set auto-
matically into standby after a predetermined
period.
120, 90, 60 and 30-minute Off-Timer settings
are possible with this timer button. For exam-
ple, if the timer button is pressed for the first
time while receiving channel
programme
number 14, the 120-minute timer is set and
"© 120M Pri4/CH21" is displayed for ap-
proximately 3 seconds.
The second press sets the 90-minute timer
and ''@) 890M Pri4/CH21" is displayed.
The third press sets the 60-minute timer and
"@] 60M Pri4/CH21" is displayed.
The fourth press sets the 30-minute timer
and "@) 30M Pr14/CH21" is displayed.
When the timer button is pressed for the fifth
time, the timer is cancelled and nothing is
displayed on the screen.
Notes:
1. After the timer is set, the remaining time is
displayed on the screen at five minute in-
tervals. If you want to check the remaining
time, press the channel/timer call button.
Five seconds before going off, the screen
flashes "(]
OM Pri4/CH21" every other
second.
2. Ifthe OffTimer is reset, the timer memory
will be cancelled.
It is recommended that the set be switched
off manually using the main power on/off
switch, if it is to be left unattended for long
periods of time.
Channel Timer Call ©
eWhen
the channel/timer
call button
is
pressed when the Off-Timer is not set, the
channel programme number will be dis-
played in the upper right corner of the
screen.
¢The channel programme number display
can also be erased by pressing this button
again.
elf the Off-Timer had been set before the
channel/timer call button is pressed, then
the remaining time will be displayed in
minutes
to the
left of the
channel
programme number on the screen. For ex-
ample, "@) 23M Prt4/CH21" will be dis-
played 23 minutes before turn-off.
Note:
The On Screen
Display automatically ap-
pears for about 3 seconds under the following
conditions:
. Ceriain buttons on the TV or the remote
control transmitter are pressed.
. The TV receives stereo or bilingual televi-
sion signals.
. The
TV
receives
slow
switch
signals
through the 21-pin Euro-SCART.
TV/VIDEO Selector
When you press the TV/VIDEO selector, the
TV receives the Audio/Video signals through
the 21-pin AV terminal,
and
'AV'
(Au-
dio/Video
indicator) will be displayed
for
about 3 seconds in the upper corner of the
screen.
When
the TV/VIDEO
selector
is
pressed again, the set is switched to receive
on-air TV broadcasting,
and the channel
programme
number will be displayed for
about 3 seconds in the upper right corner of
the screen.
