3.0.6 ADAPTING THE MOWING BAR

To ensure optium use, the mowing bar must completely project
from the tractor (Fig. 19); threee situations are shown in the Fi-
gures (20):
- hitching to a tractor normally used for mowing jobs (K1, Fig.
20);
- hitching to a large tractor (K2, Fig. 20);
- hitching to a small tractor or to certain types of tracked vehicle
(K3, Fig. 20).
3.0.7 ADJUSTMENT
Before starting a mowing session, adjust the machine so that the
best working setup is obtained. Correct machine setup guarantees
excellent mowing, allows for the best machine-tractor performance
and remarkably reduces wear of the cutting blades.
- Remove safety hook (B1, Fig. 21), required only for transportation,
and fi t it back in the slot positioned above the chassis.
- Fit the mower by adjusting the tractor tie-rods so that, when the
mower attachment is fi tted to the three points on the tractor, the
external tip of the cutting arm is approximately 5 cm. foward with
respect to the arm base (Fig. 22).
- Connect one end of the chain (L, Fig. 23) to the mower using
the supplied pin and the other end to a stationary point on the
tractor.
Adjust the height of the mower to the ground (50 to 55 cm, Fig.
33) by moving the rings of the chain (L, Fig. 23) in the hole on
the plate (F).
When the lifter is lowered, this precaution will constantly hold the
mower at the same height from ground level.
- Act on the tie rod-spring(M, Fig. 23) to bring the internal skid close
to the ground (without discharging the weight on the ground),
lightening the load of the machine on the cutter bar.
