"Well mixed" tip: Is water by itself too boring? "Spice it up" together! With older
children, prepare mixed drinks from unsweetened ingredients, e.g., an iced tea
with mint and lemon or a raspberry water. When you have mixed 3 to 4 drinks (as
suggested under "Things to know"), have the children (with closed/blindfolded
eyes) taste them: Which one is their favorite drink?
The practical check
The drinking bottle will now be examined carefully: What's in it today?
Water, tea, a spritzer? Or perhaps a soft drink or another sweet drink?
Note: This learning unit can also can for the most part be left out if time is
short. Then talk with the children about the importance of
adequate fluid intake and provide, as already recommended, water or
unsweetened tea in each unit for each child.
