The cegard/Smart control unit includes a relay output.

Safety instructions
WARNING
 Switch off main power to the elevator control system
and mark clearly that the elevator is out of service.
 Do not mount the cegard/Smart control unit on the
moving door panel.
 Follow all applicable safety measures.
 Make sure that your installation complies with all
applicable regulations and safety measures.
 Avoid any damage to the cegard/Smart control unit
 Observe the ESD protection protocol when during
installation.
 Do not drill additional holes into the PCB
 Do not touch the PCB during operation.
 To avoid mechanical stress to the PCB, plug/unplug
the connectors only when the PCB is mounted to box.
 Use only appropriate connections to the cegard/
Smart control unit.
 For North America, all connections requiring
42 Volts or greater must be wired through Greenfield
tubing and fittings. Disconnect power before opening
the control unit to prevent electrical shock. Do not
remove any inside electronics.
 It is prohibited to make any changes to the cegard/
Smart control unit itself.
 Only the CEDES cegard/Smart light curtain can be
connected to a cegard/Smart control unit.
 Connection cord with length exceeding 2 m (6.56 ft.)
shall be protected in a raceway.
5.4
Onboarding of cegard/Smart control unit
To have access to the cloud via 4G/LTE the cegard/Smart
control unit must be onboarded. The onboarding should
be done when the unit is first powered up on site. If the
cegard/Smart control unit is powered before onboarding,
please repower the box again after the onboarding process
has been completed.
Please scan the following link to start the
onboarding procedure:
During onboarding you will be prompted
for the QR-code containing the unique
ID number of the cegard/Smart device,
which can be found on the ID number
label.

The output of the control unit to the elevator control can
be used even when the onboarding process is not started
or completed.
