This device (fig. 12A,D). It has two electrodes which, when
coming in contact with salt water, generate a hypochlorite
through electrolysis.
The hypochlorite will come in contact with the resins and
disinfect them. If the electrodes do not find salt water, the
electrolysis process will not take place and the equipment will
warn the user through a visual and acoustic signal that it is
necessary to refill the salt container.
ADD SALT
The salt monitoring is performed during step B5 of the rege-
neration.
To activate the monitoring, when the writing "SALT CHECK"
appears on the display by pressing the
"YES" or "NO".
If you select "NO" and press
med and no alarm will be activated (the disinfection process
will be performed anyway). You are now finished with setting
and the display will show the Service mode screen (chapter
5.8).
By selecting "YES", "AUDIBLE ALARM" will be viewed on the
display.
By selecting "YES", salt shortage will also be signaled by an
intermittent buzzer. The acoustic signal will be active from
8am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm.
By selecting "NO", salt shortage will only be viewed on the
display.

ration disinfects the resins, it will not be able to detect the real
presence of the salt.(Fig.4,B).
CHECK SALT
In this case NOA will show an alert to check the salt in the
brine tank after having performed a specific regeneration
number.
When "SALT WARNING" is shown, the operator shall select
"YES" or "NO" by pressing the
specific function.
- By selecting "NO" and pressing on the
toring is off. This means that no alarm is going to be trigge-
red and regeneration cycles, once all completed, will stop.
The display will show the operation screen (paragraph 5.8).
- By selecting "YES" the display will show "WARNING EVERY
xx REGENERATION CYCLES" (xx = number of regeneration
cycles to be set).

5.7 VOLUMETRIC MODE SETTING
Data needed for volumetric setting are the following: water
hardness and the number of days that have to elapse before
the softener starts a regeneration cycle, irrespective of water
consumption.
5.7.1 REGENERATION SETTING BY USING

This value expresses the number of days that have to elapse
before the softener starts a regeneration cycle, irrespective of
water consumption. Values go from 00 to 30. By entering the
00 value, the softener will never start a "forced" regeneration
cycle; in fact, regeneration will only be based on the water
consumption actually measured. If, for instance, the value 10
is entered, the softener will carry out a regeneration cycle,
irrespective of actual water consumption.
Starting from this step, setting parameters are the sa-
me for both versions so you can go on by following in-
structions included in paragraph 5.3.
5.8 READING SETTINGS ON THE DISPLAY
Information on how the softener is working and what it is
going to do is viewed on the display.
Two lines are used to view the different messages. The top
line shows current day and time; the bottom line shows the
softener model and the program it is running.
Display version when the softener is set on Volumetric
mode (paragraph 5.7).
