stand for the days of the week in which regeneration cycles
will take place 1 stands for Monday, 2 stands for Tuesday, 3
stands for Wednesday, and so on... 3.7 means that regenera-
tions will take place on Wednesdays and on Sundays, that is
to say on the third and seventh day of the week.
Display version when the softener is set on chronometric
mode and shows days interval (paragraph 5.2.2).

Two lines are used to view the different messages. The top
line shows current day and time; the bottom line shows the
softener model -08-, and how many days are to elapse before
next regeneration. -07REG = 7 days and the frequency of the
regeneration, in this case, F10 means that the softener is set
so as to carry out a regeneration cycle every 10 days.
CAUTION: if F00 appears on the display, the softener will
never carry out automatic regeneration; regeneration will only
take place in semi-automatic mode (paragraph 7.1).
5.8.1 READING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DISPLAY
Irrespectively of the actual softener setting, some other
functions will appear on the display.
After the name of the day, one, two or no star symbol
can be viewed.

When no star symbol is visible on the display, salt control is
on. Thanks to this setting, in case of salt shortage, a visual
message will be displayed (red led lights on and the "ADD
SALT" / "CHECK SALT" message) just as an audible alarm
will be on.
- One single star symbol means that salt control is on, butit
will only be visually signaled by red led lights on and the
"ADD SALT" / "CHECK SALT" wording on the display.
- Two stars symbols mean that salt control is off and that,
once salt is over, no signal will be visible..
When *R* and (R) are displayed, the softener will carry out the
regeneration cycle on the preset day and time.

The sign
placed before and after the model code, indicates
that the time of regeneration has been modified with extra
rinse. (see paragraph 5.5)
5.8.2 READING OF SETTINGS AND ALARMS
When the softener is in service, by pressing

As both "PAST ALARM LOG" and "FIRST INSTALLATION",
they are the same for the three programs.
When "PAST ALARM LOG" is displayed, all the alarms re-
corded by the softener are viewed by pressing the
Alarms are recorded by the softener according to a numerical
order that also provides date and time information.
There are three types of alarm: AS is displayed in case of
salt shortage; CS: Signals to check the salt, E1 and E2 are
displayed in case of system errors.
Caution: if salt shortage control is put in the off position, the
softener will not record such event in the log (par. 5.6, 5.6.1).
When FIRST INSTALLATION is displayed, the softener shows
the date on which the third automatic regeneration was carri-
ed out. It can be treated as the true start of the device.
5.8.3 SALT ALARM / CHECK SALT
By setting to on comprehensive salt monitoring, the softener
will signal salt shortage in three ways:
- Blinking red led lights (fig. 10, C,D)
- "ADD SALT" / "CHECK SALT" message displayed
- Intermittent audible alarm. Buzzing will last 3 minutes, then
it will remain silent for 7 minutes. Such device is operative
from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00
p.m.
By partially setting to on salt monitoring, the softener will only
signal salt shortage in visual terms:
- Blinking red led lights around the display (fig. 10, C,D)
- "ADD SALT"/ "CHECK SALT" message displyed
If salt monitoring is not set to on, no salt shortage will be
signaled.
5.8.3.1 SILENT THE SALT ALARM/ CHECK SALT
When the softener is in "salt alarm", the correct procedure to
silence the alarm is the following: simultaneously press the
