Bench test
1 Make sure air pressure at regulator
reads zero.
2 Install air connector (2) to inlet of air
motor.
3 Connect air coupler (3) to connector.
4 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor, being sure not to exceed
20 psi (1.4 bars). Pump assembly
should cycle.
If pump assembly does not cycle, refer to
Troubleshooting, page 15 for details.
With air pressure at zero:
5 Connect product hose to pump material
outlet.
6 Direct hose into appropriate collection
container.
7 Place pump in oil.
8 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor.
9 Allow pump to cycle slowly until system
and oil is free of air.
NOTE
Should leakage occur anywhere within
system, disconnect air to motor.
Failure to comply may result in
personal injury.
If pump assembly does not prime, refer to
Troubleshooting, page 15 for details.
With air pressure at zero:
10 Attach control valve to outlet hose of
pump.
11 Set air pressure to 100 psi (6.9 bar).
12 Operate control valve into container.
13 Allow pump to cycle until system and oil
is once again free of air.
NOTE
Pump that does not completely stall
with oil does not necessarily mean that
it will not stall with grease.
14 Shut off control valve.
14.1 Visually inspect pump for external
leaks.
14.2 Pump should not cycle.
If pump does not adequately stall, refer to
Troubleshooting, page 15 for details.
15 Check motor for air leakage.
If motor leaks, refer to air motor manual for
details.
Model 7736 preventive maintenance schedule
Refer to section Overhaul, page 9 for the procedures necessary to perform maintenance.
Daily
Wipe exterior with clean cloth
14
Prove pump
Aerated product is due to external leakage;
either at pump or at connection fittings on
bulk container. Isolation of pump from bulk
container can help improve pumping.
1 Place pump in oil.
2 Follow steps 9 through 13 under
section Bench test.
If pump does not leak externally, fittings on
bulk container may not be sealing properly.
NOTE
Pump may still contain air leak at
o-ring (12). Refer to Troubleshooting
chart, page 15, for details.
Weekly
Inspect for air and/or material leakage.
