How to operate the projector

Switch on the projector by means of the
on/off switch 73.
© Turn on the lamp switch 74 (The indicator
lamp in the lamp switch 74 lights).
e Briefly depress (maximum 1 second) lamp
ignition button 75.
The lamp ignites and will reach full brightness
within about 20 seconds.
If the lamp shouldn't ignite on the first
attempt, repeat the ignition process after about
5 seconds.
A lamp that has been switched off, but is still
hot, can be re-ignited safely only after 30 - 60
seconds.
Hints
The projector lamp can be switched off with
the lamp switch 74 only (or with the on/off
switch 73). It cannot be switched off however,
with the main operating switch 3.
The function »light/no light« is taken over by
the light cut-off which is governed by the main
operating switch 3. This light cut-off is open
only in positions 2 (forward and backward pro-
jection) of the main operating switch 3.
It is not advisable to switch off the lamp dur-
ing a short interruption of projection.
Lacing the film and sound

'Trimming and lacing the film
© Trim the beginning of the film, using the
film trimmer 1.
@ Depress the green lacing button 2 until it
engages.
e Close the film gate cover 18.
With the film gate cover 18 removed close
the lens carrier as well as the three film
holders by depressing the green buttons.
e
Check whether the green ON/OFF switch
73 is on.
© Rotate the main operating switch 3 to the
right in position 1 (forward run without
light).
O Insert the trimmed leader between the
guide roller and the film entrance 4 (perfo-
rations on the operator side).
e As soon as about 2 m of film have come
out of the opening to the left of the
lamphouse switch off the projector with the
main operating switch 3.
e Pull at the beginning of the film until the
green lacing button 2 pops out with an
audible click.
e Now lace the film around the guide rollers
21 as shown in the diagram.

Attach the beginning of the film to the
empty take-up reel and rotate the reel clock-
wise until the film is tight.
This finishes the lacing
and the showing may begin
e According to the type of film laced depress
the »OPT« button for optical sound film, or
the »MAG« button for magnetic sound
film.
e After ignition of the lamp rotate the main
operating switch 3 to the right into position 2
»projection«.
e Focus the screen image © , adjust the
frameline © as well as the sound
VOLUME and the sound level (TONE).
End of the showing/
Rewinding the film
The projector will stop automatically when the
end of the film has passed the film gate. Also
the light cut-off will close automatically.
e
Rotate the main operating switch 3 to the
right into position 1 (forward run without
light) and depress the green lacing button 2
until it engages. As a result the end of the
film will pass through the projector.
© Set the main operating switch 3 to »@ «=
stop.
Hint: projector lamp remains on.
e For rewinding attach the end of the film to
the empty supply reel on the right reel arm.
e Rotate the main operating switch 3 to the
left into position 1 (backward run without
light) and pull the rapid rewind lever 12.
e When rewinding has finished turn off the
main operating switch 3.
- The rapid rewind lever 12 unlocks auto-
matically.
