KNE 16 18-EC
To switch off, release the switch by press-
ing the rear part.
NOTE
The power tool is equipped with accidental
start-up protection. If the battery is inserted
when the power tool is switched on, the
machine will not start up again.
NOTE
Overload protection: Switches the
–
machine off in the event of overload.
Temperature monitoring: The machine
–
will switch off if there is a risk of
overheating.
Operating instructions
NOTE
When it is switched off, the power tool
continues to run briefly.
Working with the power tool
NOTE
Only introduce the power tool to the material
to be machined once full speed has been
reached.
When cutting, keep the power tool as
perpendicular as possible to the surface of
the material to be machined. Avoid tilting.
Guide the power tool in the cutting direction,
evenly and with gentle propulsion. Too
strong a feed significantly reduces the
service life of the insertion tools and can
damage the power tool.
Do not cut sheet metal at available welding
points.
Do not cut multi-layered sheet metal that
exceeds the maximum material thickness.
To improve the cutting result and increase
the service life of the punch, applying a
lubricant along the planned cut mark before
machining is recommended:
– Cuts in a steel sheet: Cutting paste or
cutting oil
– Cuts in aluminium: Petroleum
Machine the material with the desired
cutting line.
If you reach the end of the cut mark in the
sheet metal, pull the power tool back a few
millimetres while it's still running, in the
direction of the mark that has already been
cut.
Switch off the power tool.
Cutting
CAUTION!
Cutting chips! The cutting chips have sharp
tips on which you may injure yourself.
NOTE
The power tool may only be introduced to
the material to be machined when it is
switched on.
The punch leaves behind a cutting trace of
approx. 5 mm in width when cutting in the
material.
Changing the cutting direction
The cutting direction can be turned to the
right or left. There are eight positions, with
a 45° angle each.
Remove the battery.
Loosen the thumb wheel.
Pull the die holder out approx. 3 mm and
turn in the desired direction.
Retighten the thumb wheel.
