Never use old or contaminated gasoline or an oil/petrol mixture. Prevent dirt or water from entering the
fuel tank.
Do not be concerned if you intermittently hear a slight crackling or clanking noise under heavy load ope-
ration. If these noises are heard at constant engine speed under normal load, change the brand of fuel. If
they persist, contact an authorised technical support centre.
CAUTION: Operating the engine with persistent noises is considered misuse and the warranty does not
cover parts damaged due to misuse.
CAUTION: Oxygenated fuels can damage paint and plastics. Be careful not to spill fuel when filling the
fuel tank. Damage caused by spilled fuel is not covered by the warranty.
Air filter
Remove the air filter cover. Check that the air filter element is
clean.
Broken element: Replace it with a new one.
Dirty element: Clean with cleaning solvent, dry, soak filter with
engine oil, squeeze out excess oil. Put the filter back in its origi-
nal place, mount the cover and close it with the pin.

Battery
For models with electric start
Check the battery and its connections. Verify that each battery cell is
between the maximum and minimum electrolyte level marked on the
battery. Check electrolyte levels.

Battery preparation
•
Unscrew the plate that holds the battery (only in case of
having it).
•
Remove the battery from its housing.
•
Remove the upper sticker of the battery.
•
To pour the liquid for batteries inside the same one, previous-
ly removing the plastic protector, but without opening the
top paper (this one will be perforated when connecting it to
the battery).
•
Wait until the bottle is empty.
