Caution - Important safety instructions
DANGER
The motorisation must be installed and set by
a professional motorisation and home auto-
mation installer, in compliance with the regu-
lations of the country in which it has been
commissioned. Furthermore, he must follow
the instructions in this guide throughout the
installation procedure. Failure to follow these
instructions could result in serious injury, e.g.
crushing by the gate.
WARNING
Installation instructions and training the users
For reasons of personal safety, it is important
to follow all the instructions, as incorrect in-
stallation can lead to serious injury. Retain
these instructions.
The installer must train all users to ensure
completely safe use of the motorisation, in
accordance with the user manual.
The user manual and installation manual must
be given to the end user.
The installer must explain clearly to the end
user that installation, adjustment and main-
tenance of the motorisation must be per-
formed by a professional motorisation and
home automation installer.

Any use made of this product outside the field
of application described in this manual is pro-
hibited (see "Field of application" section).
The use of any accessory or component not
recommended by Somfy is prohibited as this
may place people at risk.
Somfy cannot be held responsible for any damage
resulting from non-compliance with the instructions
in this guide.
If you have any doubts when installing the motorisa-
tion or to obtain additional information, please con-
sult the website www.somfy.com .
These instructions may be modified in the event of a
change to the standards or the motorisation.
1.2
Product specifications
This product is a drive for a hinged gate on a residen-
tial property as defined in standard EN 60335-2-103,
with which it is compliant.
The main purpose of these instructions is to satisfy
the requirements of the aforementioned standard
and to ensure personal and property safety.
1.3
Preliminary checks
1.3.1 Installation environment
CAUTION
Do not spray water onto the drive.
Do not install the drive in an explosive envir-
onment.
Check that the temperature range marked on
the drive is suited to the installation location.
1.3.2 Condition of the product to be motorised
Do not motorise a gate which is in poor working or-
der or has been incorrectly installed.
Before installing the motorisation, check that:
• the gate is in good mechanical condition
• the gate is stable, irrespective of its position
• the gate can be opened and closed properly using
a force of less than 150 N.
• the structures supporting the gate allow the drive
to be fastened securely. Reinforce them if neces-
sary.
