1.2. EXPLANATION OF TERMS
The term "Setting Bench" is used in these instructions to refer to the setting bench.

2.1. GROUPED SAFETY MESSAGES
DANGER
Electrically live components
Risk of fatal electric shock.
» Before starting any installation or maintenance work, disconnect the device from the mains power supply.
» Electrical installation, maintenance and repair may be performed only by trained specialists.
» Before installation, check whether an earth is required.
» For indoor use only.
» If power cables or sockets are damaged, do not continue to use the device.
» Do not store liquids in the vicinity of electrically live components.
» Do not open the electric power supply unit.
» Do not operate, plug in or withdraw devices with wet or moist hands.
» Plug type F for connection to the 230 Volt mains power supply.
CAUTION
Moveable ceramic gauge blocks
Crush hazard and laceration hazard for the hands.
» Before operation, ensure the movement range is free of obstructions.
» During operation, do not reach with your hand between the ceramic gauge blocks.
» During operation, do not move the ceramic gauge blocks by hand. The setting bench uses motorised drives to position
the ceramic gauge blocks.
2.2. INTENDED USE
 For setting and calibrating external gauges, internal gauges, bore gauges and universal measuring instruments.
 For work in industrial environments.
 Use only when correctly mounted and with safety devices and guards on the machine operational.
 Use only when it is technically in good condition and safe to operate.
 For exact setting, use the adapters Article-No. 439910 – 439916.
 Use only on a flat and clean base.
 Plug type F for connection to the 230 Volt mains power supply. Use a suitable light-current supply cable for other sock-
ets.
2.3. REASONABLY FORESEEABLE MISUSE
 When there are objects or parts of the body in the range of movement, do not move the ceramic gauge blocks.
 Do not apply any heavy stresses to the housing.
 Do not make any unauthorised changes or modifications.
 Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
