3.3 Limitation of flexion
The KINEGEN.wave enables a knee flexion of 145°. However, this flexion angle
can only be achieved with a correct socket/prosthesis alignment.
Clamps of socket adapters must be located medially or laterally on the shaft
according to the instructions for use. If the clamp is posterior, the flexion
angle of the knee joint may not be fully utilised or the knee joint may be
damaged.
With a correct prosthetic alignment, it can be assumed that the user's pos-
terior touches the prosthetic foot before the socket comes into contact with
the knee joint.
3.4 Replacing the extension Spring
To replace the spring, turn screw C (Fig. 9) anticlockwise until it can be
removed from the knee joint. Replace the old spring from the knee joint with
the new 3A900/E1 spring. Before fitting, make sure that the spring has been
greased.
Attention!
Note that when using the replacement spring, the default setting
of screw c is as shown in Figure 9, with the screw protruding by
3 mm. If necessary, the screw can be turned in a maximum of
one revolution to achieve a faster extension in the swing phase.
4 Adjustment
4.1 Adjustment of the standing safety
Attention!
If the prosthetic socket is tilted more anteriorly at the proximal
pyramidal connection of the knee joint, standing safety is increased.
If the prosthetic socket tilts posteriorly, the dynamics increase and
the standing safety decreases.
Attention!
Standing safety is also influenced by the construction of the
prosthetic foot.
