ignition off and engine stopped.
Every time you make interventions in the electrical system of the vehicle, do it
with ignition off. For example: connecting test devices, substituting components of
the ignition system, connecting elements to a test bench, etc.
Use only adequate connection elements when doing test connections.
It is necessary to make a good connection of tubes and adapters in order to avoid
high-pressure diesel gushes.
Never disassemble parts of devices or equipment with the vehicle in operation. In
order to execute the tests with the TM 558, it is necessary that the Shop is able to
diagnose the electronic injection system with a Scanner. That's because a fault
code might be generated in given tests, which leads the system to enter into
emergency mode. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to delete the
failure memory with a Scanner.
Each Common Rail System has its particularities. Some systems can reach
pressures above 2000bar during tests, which activates the safety valve. Others,
due to the construction of the system, might not go beyond 1000 bar. Therefore,
do not compare test values of different systems.
