Important: Each Common Rail System has its particularities. During tests,
some systems might reach pressures above 2000 bar and activate the
safety valve. Others, due to the construction of the system, might not go
beyond 1000 bar. Therefore, do not compare test values of different
systems.
Pressure test at idle
This test aims at checking the pressure in idle.
Test procedures
• Install the gauge in the system as explained in the installation chapter.
• Be sure that the valve is totally open.
• Activate the ignition key, start the engine and keep it in idle.
• Do not accelerate the vehicle when the register is closed. Risk of damage to
the vehicle system and damage to the manometer, causing a loss of warranty.
• Observe the pressure under this situation.
