Tests

The TM 558 has been developed in order to assess the capacity of the Common
Rail System's high-pressure pump. In order to accomplish that, we have
elaborated 4 types of tests.
Attention: In order to execute the tests with the TM 558, it is necessary that
the Shop is able to diagnose the electronic injection system with a Scanner.
That's because a fault code might be generated in given tests, which leads
the system to enter into emergency mode. In order to solve this problem, it
is necessary to delete the failure memory with a Scanner.
1. Engine start test
2. Pressure test at idle
3. Restriction test at idle
4. Acceleration test
Important: Before starting the tests at pump output (high-pressure), the
following components must be tested.
• Low pressure pump (test it with multimeter and low pressure gauge).
• DRV Valve (test it with Rasther, multimeter and the TM 507).
• MPROP Valve (test it with Rasther, multimeter and the TM 507).
• Oil filter (accomplish the load loss test).
• A single problem in the functioning of these components affects the result of
high-pressure pump (TM 558) output tests.
Important: In order to prove its correct functioning, the high-pressure pump
must not present faults during any one of the four tests.
