6.5 Adjusting the grinding unit

5. Move the adjusting place
until the knife radius
matches the radius dial
and fix it in place.
Adjust the grinding unit so that the cup grinding wheel is exactly in the center of the access (see
photo below).
. Also make sure that the curved knife is securely clamped into the horizontal clamping
device and rests safely against the end stop bolts.
The distance between the safety plate of the cup grinding wheel and the curved knife must be as
short as possible.
In order to be able to grind both very small and very large radii, you can turn the rotary unit of
the grinding unit by 180° .
To do so, perform the following steps:
1. Loosen the clamping lever and slide the entire grinding unit to the back before taking it off.
ATTENTION!
When taking off the grinding unit, make sure it does not slip out of your
hands
2. Lift the rotary unit out of
the guide and turn it by
180° . Reinsert the rotary
unit. From the rear, slide
the grinding unit back onto
the rotary unit before
adjusting it and fixing it in
place.
4. Position of the rotary unit
for small radii.
TIP!
Most knives
require that you
set the rotary unit
as shown here.
TIP!
We recommend that you mark the outline of the
back edge on the adjusting plate. This will later
make it easier to position the knife you want to
sharpen.

3. When doing so, make
sure that the clamping
plates are properly
inserted at the bottom
of the grinding unit!
