Roasting
•
Place food directly on the low rack or in an oven-safe pan on the rack. If you
prefer your food to be crispy, browned or "well-done" use the high rack to
position for food closer to the heat source.
•
Use oil if desired, to keep food from becoming dry in the oven.
•
Roasting time may vary depending on the type of food, thickness of meat or
amount of fat.
•
If cooking for a great length of time, flip the food half way through the
cooking time for even cooking.
•
If a glaze is desired, place food 4" from the top heat source and broil at 400°F
until the desired shade of brown is reached. Jams, jellies and preserves work
great as a glaze.
Grilling
•
Place foil on the bottom of the glass bowl to catch fat and oil drippings.
•
Brush the low rack with oil to avoid sticking.
•
Place food directly on the low rack.
Baking
•
Place your food in any oven-safe baking dish on the low rack. The oven-safe
baking dish should be no more than 8" in diameter to leave enough room for
the flow of hot air around the food being cooked.
•
Be aware that baking desserts can easily become over cooked. It is
recommended to lower the temperature slightly and turn the baking dish if
too much browning occurs.
Broiling
•
Place foil on the bottom of the glass bowl to catch fat and oil drippings.
•
Brush the high rack with oil to avoid sticking.
•
Place food directly on the high rack.
•
Broiling time may vary depending on the type of food, thickness of meat or
amount of fat.
