6 Rotary switch : main functions
Switch On by selecting the base function A AC or V AC ; plus OFF.
When it is switched On, the clamp is on Auto range selection, with the secondary functions
inhibited.
7 Secondary function buttons
With the main function A AC and V AC selected, these buttons qualify the signal that is
present.
- THD
To access measurements of the total harmonic distortion (THD %), the distortion factor
(DF %) and the crest factor (CF).
- RANGE
To access manual range selection.
- Hz
To access frequency measurements on voltage or current.
- SMOOTH/PEAK
To filter the measured value over 3 seconds (SMOOTH) and measure the peak value
over 1ms (PEAK).
- MAX/MIN
To access recording (RECORD) and the reading of the max (MAX), min (MIN) and
average (AVG) values.
DISPLAY
8 The LCD provides three types of information :
- the digital value with 10,000 measurement counts,
- the analogue value with a 30 segment bargraph,
- the symbol for the configuration of the clamp and the warning signals.
Digital display
It has 10,000 measurement counts
with two ranges
- on automatic 60.00 and 999.9
- on manual
99.99 and 999.9
29
The non significant zeros after the decimal point are not displayed.
The digital display also gives two messages :
OL :
indicates overload above 10,000 counts,
- - - -: indicates an unknown value on "Hold-Record-Pause" or measurement impossible
with an input level that is too low.
Analogue display
It consists of a 30 segment bargraph, plus a zero bar and an overload indicating arrow, on the
right.
It always gives the value of the current measurement in amps (A RMS) or volts (V RMS).
It has two ranges :
- 60 - reading: 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 A or V
-600 - reading: 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600A or V
The zero bar is always lit and flashes when the minimum value is nil on RECORD mode.
Symbol display
This display indicates the configuration of the clamp; it can be either steady or flashing.
