4.4.1
Replacing the visor
1. Unhook the cap on both sides from the lens frame (Figure F1-1 on
page 3).
2. Use your thumbs to press against the bottom part of the cap and
remove it from the fastening lugs (Figure F1-2 on page 3).
3. Pull the cap up from the facepiece.
4. Remove the screws of the frame.

5. Remove the mask/helmet adapter.

6. Spread the frame apart, tilt it towards the front and pull apart side-
ways.
7. Detach the visor from the rubber frame (Figure F2 on page 3).

Moistening either the mask body or the lens frame facilitates
the assembly.
Observe the centre marking on the visor.
8. Centre the new visor when inserting and make sure that it is prop-
erly seated in mask body.
9. Apply pressure onto the lens frame until it snaps

into place at the centre of the visor, then tighten

with new self-locking screws until the gap is shut.

10. Put the cap on the connector, lock it into place on the fastening
lugs and hook it into the lens frame.

Depending on the facepiece, the recess for the connector can
vary. Make sure that the following caps are used,
for facepieces P and RA: cap R 56 278
for facepieces PE and ESA: cap R 56 378
4.4.2
Replacing the inner mask (Figure H on page 3)
1. To remove, take hold of the inner mask at the tip of the nose, then
pull it off the pin and out of the speech diaphragm groove.
2. To fasten and centre, place the tip of the nose of the inner mask
on the pin. Fit the ring of the inner mask into the groove in the
speech diaphragm, first at the bottom and then all around.
4.4.3
Replacing the speech diaphragm
1. Unbutton the inner mask.
2. Unscrew the speech diaphragm with a socket wrench and remove
it.
3. Perform visual inspection of speech diaphragm and O-ring and re-
place if necessary.
4. Insert O-ring, then screw in speech diaphragm
(recommended torque: 400 ±50 Ncm).
5. Press the inner mask back into place.
