16 Error codes
If contradictory treatment settings are selected, one of
the following numbers will be displayed. The error situ-
ation must be corrected before treatment can start.
Number 0:
The phase duration in relation to the phase interval is
too large (> 1:2).
Reduce the phase duration or increase the phase interval.
Number 1:
The wrong remote control has been connected up to the
Endomed 581. The unit only works with two remote con-
trols (see page 28). Change the remote control.
17 Amplitude display
Indicates the peak value (amplitude) of the electro-
therapy channel. A flashing display indicates poor or no
electrical contact (Defective cable or a high resistance
of the electrodes or an opened circuit). In these cases
the output current will be switched off for security rea-
sons.
18 Program key "pre set programs"
Key for retreiving the pre programed programs. These
programs cannot be changed by the user.
19 Program key "store"
Key for storing a setting (program) in the memory.
20 Program key "retreive"
Key for retreiving stored programs from the memory.
21 Confirmation key
Key for confirming/accepting a program selected with
key 18, 19 or 20.
22 Key two pole interference
Key for selecting two pole interference (amplitude modi-
fied alternating current).
23 Key pulsed current asymmetrical
biphasic
Key for setting an asymmetrical biphasic pulsed current.
Phase duration and pulse frequency can be set accord-
ing to your wishes. Also a choice can be made between
a frequency modulation program or a burst frequency.
24 Key pulsed current symmetrical
biphasic
Key for setting a symmetrical biphasic pulsed current.
Phase duration and pulse frequency can be set accord-
ing to your wishes. Also a choice can be made between
a frequency modulation program or a burst frequency.
25 Key intermittent alternating current
Indicates an interruped medium frequency current
(choose between 2000, 2500, 4000, 6000 and 10000
Hz). Train duration, train frequency and ratio can be ad-
justed. If desired, a muscle stimulation program can be
selected herewith.
20
26 Key diadynamic current
Key for selecting a diadynamic current. With the setting
keys, a choice can be made from MF, DF , CP , LP or CPid.
27 Key rectangular current
Key for selecting a rectangular current with adjustable
parameters. When the S/d curve remote control (art.no.
1485.802) is connected, the Endomed 581
from continuous mode to pulsed mode. Each time the
pulse key on the remote controle is pressed, one puls is
generated.
28 Key triangular current
Key for selecting a triangular current with adjustable
parameters. When the S/d curve remote control (art.no.
1485.802) is connected, the Endomed 581
from continuous mode to pulsed mode. Each time the
pulse key on the remote controle is pressed, one puls is
generated.
29 Key medium frequency direct current
Key for selecting an intermittent direct current with a fixed
PROG
frequency of 8000 Hz and a duty cycle of 95%. This type
of current has a strong galvanic character, but is experi-
enced as milder than continuous direct current.
30 Parameter setting selector
Keys for adjusting the value of a selected param-
eter.
31 Display parameter selector
Keys for selecting adjustable parameters
in the display.
32 Amplitude control
Continuous regulator for setting the patient current.
33 CC/CV selector
Key to change the current characteristic from constant
current (CC) to constant voltage (CV) when treating with
alternating currents. With diadynamic currents, we advise
you to use only the CV-mode.
34 Polarity selector
Switch for reversing the polarity of the electrodes.
If the selector is used during treatment, the current is
automatically reduced to zero, after which it increases to
80% of the original value set, with the changed polarity
(see figure top next page).
