4.1.1 Electronic locking (permanent)

If you feel unsafe, you can lock the joint at any time using the top button for locking the knee joint. This may be the
case when walking on a slope or if you want to stand up for an extended period of time without focusing on the
electronic control unit. In order to do so, briefly press the upper button twice in quick succession (like double-click­
ing a computer mouse). This function is confirmed by an audible signal. It is deactivated with a double mouse click
on the upper button until you hear an audible tone.
4.1.2 Electronic unlocking (once)
With the lower button, the patient can unlock the joint once (e.g. in order to sit down). In order to do so, briefly
press the lower button twice in quick succession (like double-clicking a computer mouse). This function is not con­
firmed by an audible signal.

4.1.3 Mechanical unlocking (temporary)

For certain activities (e.g. cycling), it may be beneficial to temporarily unlock the E-MAG Active joint. Mechanical
unlocking of the system is indicated by the symbol of a cyclist (switch to "
In order to restore the functionality of the E-MAG Active joint, cancelling the unlocking feature is required. In order
to secure the system again, the switch is operated again in the opposite direction. The normal state of the joint is
indicated by the symbol of a walking person (switch to " ").
