Selected value

The selected value refers to an ambient temperature
of 20 °C (68 °F) and an ambient pressure of
1013 hPa.
To convert this value to the flow at ambient condi-
tions
proceed as follows (gas equation):

x T
x p

= Flow displayed in L/min (at 1013 hPa and

20 °C/68 °F)
= Flow rate at
2
p2 = Ambient pressure (hPa)
t2 = Ambient temperature (°C/°F)
p1 = Reference air pressure 1013 hPa
t1 = Reference temperature 20 °C (68 °F)
T1 = t1 + 273 °C (523.4 °F)
T2 = t2 + 273 °C (523.4 °F)
Example:
Displayed value 4 L/min, temperature 24 °C, ambi-
ent pressure 960 hPa
4 L/min x (24 °C + 273 °C) x 1013 hPa
=
2
960 hPa x (20 °C + 273 °C)
2 = 4.27 L/min (at 960 hPa and 24 °C)
After use
 Turn selector wheel to 0.
 Remove rail clamp from the rail by pressing the
toggle.

Reprocessing

Safety information
WARNING
Risk due to inappropriately reprocessed prod-
ucts
Reusable products must be reprocessed, other-
wise there is an increased risk of infection.
Follow the infection prevention policies and
reprocessing regulations of the health-care
facility.
Follow the national infection prevention pol-
icies and reprocessing regulations.
Use validated procedures for reprocessing.
Reprocess reusable products after every
use.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for
cleaning agents, disinfectants, and repro-
cessing devices.
WARNING
Risk due to faulty products
Signs of wear, e.g., cracks, deformation, discol-
oration, or peeling, may occur with reprocessed
products.
Check the products for signs of wear and re-
place them if necessary.

Information on reprocessing

Follow the national infection prevention policies and
reprocessing regulations.
Follow the infection prevention policies and repro-
cessing regulations of the health-care facility (e.g.,
concerning the reprocessing cycles).

Classifications for reprocessing

Classification of medical devices
The classification depends on the intended use of
the medical device. The risk of infection transmission
through the application of the product to the patient
without proper reprocessing is the basis of the
Spaulding classification.
