Troubleshooting
What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service center.
• For operations with the external components, refer also to the instructions supplied with the adapters used for the
connections (as well as the instructions supplied with the external components).
Symptoms
No sound comes out of the speakers.
The screen is not clear and legible.
The unit does not work at all.
The touch panel does not respond properly.
Navigation guidance or AV source is hard to
listen to.
"System start up failed."
"No Signal"
Guidance does not start.
You cannot operate some functions of an AV
source on the map screen.
Route calculation seems to have stopped.
Remedies/Causes
• Adjust the volume to the optimum level.
• Check the cords and connections.
Sunshine from the windshield may cause this symptom.
Adjust the brightness on the monitor setting screen.

Detach the monitor panel, then attach it. (☞ page 6)
• Keep your hands and the touch panel clean and dry.
• Eliminate static electricity and do not place magnetic
items near the unit.
• Leave the unit until the temperature becomes stable in
the car.
• A rubber mat on the floor may cause this symptom. In
this case, do not use the rubber mat.
Surround noise interferes. Increase the <Adaptive
Volume> level. (☞ page 68)
The System cannot start up. Detach the monitor panel,
then attach it. (☞ page 6)
• Change the source.
• Start the playback on the external component
connected to AV-IN jack on the monitor panel or VIDEO
IN/LINE IN jacks on the rear panel.
• Check the cords and connections.
• Signal input is too weak.
The System proceeds calibration. Wait until calibration is
completed. When calibration is completed, the guidance
starts.
On the map screen, you can operate some limited
functions of the current source only. Press AV MAP and
operate the source on the AV screen.
Route calculation may take long depending on the route.
Wait for a while.
