In patients who are able to walk, the orthosis improves pelvic symmetry and increases knee free­
dom. The scissor gait is reduced and more physiological walking is promoted.
By using the orthosis, patients who are unable to walk do not have to use separate abductors in
the wheelchair. Hip abduction with the orthosis improves balance while sitting by establishing a
broader seat basis. Using the hands for support is no longer necessary.
When lying down, e.g. while sleeping, the orthosis reduces muscle shortening due to spasticity.

5 Handling

► The daily duration of use and period of application are generally determined by the physi­
cian.
