Recorder Problems
Battery power does not last
The monitor is designed to provide a minimum of 4 hours of battery power with spot check measurements taken
every 15 minutes. Philips recommends that the battery be replaced at least once a year to maintain sufficient
battery power.
Monitor does not respond to button press
Cause
Monitor being used
incorrectly.
Unit does not retain settings and continuously displays "Factory Defaults"
The "SYS-Factory Defaults" message displays the first time the unit is powered up after the Factory Defaults
have been initiated. If the unit senses that the saved memory has become corrupt, the unit will initiate a Factory
Default.
Display is not complete or missing segments

Paper Jams
Cause
Note: If a paper jam occurs, turn the monitor off, remove the AC power, lift up the platen release lever on the left
side of the printer, and slowly pull on the paper to remove it from the printer.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance
Solution
Verify that the operator is using the unit correctly.

Ask your Biomed to reset the model number to the correct value.

Select the desired volume setting in the System configuration screen.
Solution
Use only Philips recorder paper. If incorrect paper is used, the recorder will jam.
Make sure the paper is inserted as described in Chapter 9, Recording and Printing
Results.
Turn off the monitor, remove the AC power, lift up the platen release lever on the
left side of the printer, and slowly pull on the paper to remove it from the printer.
When the power is turned on again, the printer will reset.
Ask your Biomed to reset the model number to the correct value.
Use only Philips recorder paper. If incorrect paper is used, the recorder will jam.
If the paper is not thermal paper, it will not print. Use only Philips recorder paper.
