5.2
Slackening the belts
- Press the adjustment knob [L.10] and simultaneously route the shoulder
belt [L.11] forwards. Do not pull on the shoulder padding [L.12] in doing so.
5.3
Buckling the child in
- Open the child safety seat buckle [N.16] by pressing on the red release
button [N.15].
- Slacken the belts (see 5.2).
- Connect the belt buckle [N.17] into the belt buckle holder [N.18] on the side.
- Place the crotch piece [N.19] and the buckle [N.16] to face forwards.
- Sit your child in the child safety seat.
- Guide the shoulder belts [O.11] over the child's shoulders without twisting
the belts.
- Bring the two locking pieces together [P.17].
- Lock the locking locking pieces into the belt buckle [R.16]. There must be a
clearly audible "click".
- Tighten the belt to the point (see 5.4) where it is a snug fit on the child's
body.
5.4
Tightening the belts
- For tightening the belt, pull the tension belts [S.20] straight to the front away
from the child safety seat.
CAUTION!
The basic principle is as follows: The more snugly the safety belt fits
the child's body, the greater the degree of safety offered.
The shoulder belts of the child safety seat should not be twisted or
swapped over.
The lap belt on both sides must sit tightly and as low as possible over
the child's hips.

Check list
-correctly securing the child-
CAUTION!
Incorrect securing of the child's safety seat can endanger the health, or
put at risk, the lives, of all occupants of the vehicle. For this reason,
carry out the following checks for your child's safety and that of the
other occupants of the vehicle carefully.
To ensure your child's safety, check that
- the belts of the child safety seat have a snug fit,
- the shoulder belts are properly fitted (see 5.1),
- the belts are not twisted,
- the locking pieces have engaged in the buckle.
CAUTION!
Take breaks on long journeys, so that your child can be relieved of the
constraints on his/her movement.
Always ensure that the car seat backrests are properly secured (for
example, fold down rear seats) and that there are no heavy or sharp-
edged objects in the vehicle (e.g. on the parcel shelf).
Never leave your child unattended when sat in the child safety seat or
in the back of the car.
