7.3 Oil change
Disconnect power from the pump.
- Take the pump out of the well, carefully wash with clean water
before touching (do not underestimate the risk of infection).
Check oil in sealing chamber: all pump types
- Check the oil level in the intermediate sealing chamber. To do this,
lie the unit down on its side and unscrew the cap, invert the unit to
empty all the oil into a container.
Compare the quantity of oil with that given in the table below.
If the oil contains water, the lower mechanical seal
CAUTION !
is probably damaged and must be replaced.
Oil check in motor
- Check the oil level in the motor. To do this, proceed as described in
the preceding point. Check that there is no water or water-oil mix-
ture in the stator housing. In the case of water/water-oil mixture
being present, the upper mechanical seal must be replaced.
Take care to not damage the mechanical seals
CAUTION !
during these replacement operations.

8. TROUBLES
Before any servicing, DISCONNECT POWER from the unit.
PROBLEM
8.1 THE PUMP FAILS TO
a) Power failure or circuit-breaker open:
START.
b) Fuse blown:
c) Wheel seized:
d) One or more conductors of power cord bro-
ken:
e) Float fault:
8.2 THE PUMP PROVIDES
a) Inversion of rotation direction:
NO FLOW OR LOW

8.3 WATER PRESENT IN

CAUSE
7.4 Disassembly
Perform disassembly by proceeding in the following order :
1 - Drainage of motor and chamber oil (see Section 7.3).
2 - Strainer and pump body.
3 - Wheel securing bolt (screw on 56-50 and 56-100).
4 - Pin (56-1 and 56-15) or cotter (56-32, 56-50 and 56-100) and impeller.
5 - Wear plate (except 56-1 and 56-15.
6 - Rotating assembly of the lower mechanical seal.
7 - Bottom with stationary part of lower seal.
8 - Shaft circlip.
9 - Rotating assembly of the upper mechanical seal.
10 - Lower bearing (or boring head/lower bearing assembly)
equipped with the stationary part of the upper seal.
11 - Remove the flange, electrical cable with its protection
and its plug (56-1, 56-15 and 56-32).
12 - Motor cover and disconnection of internal wires on
terminal plate (56-50 and 56-100).
13 - Circlip and upper bearings.
14 - Shaft & rotor.
15 - Circlips and lower bearings.
16 - Motor casing.
17 - Pump cover for units 56-32, 56-50 and 56-100.
Re-assembly
- Reverse procedure after having replacing all defective seals and
cleaning all parts.
- Wet the O-rings and the friction surfaces of the mechanical seals using
an appropriate liquid.
- Fill the motor and intermediate chamber with oil (see Section 7.3).
a) Check and reset if necessary. Power failure: see instructions on control device.
b) Check fuses, replace if necessary.
c) Disassemble and remove foreign bodies.
d) Check the entire length of the cable, replace if necessary.
e) Check level and operation of floats. Check chronological order of floats.
a) Check rotation direction. Higher flow indicates correct direction. Invert phase wires if
necessary.
b) Disassemble and clean piping if necessary.
c) Disassemble and clean.
d) Unblock the 4-mm diameter hole.
e) Replace the impeller.
a) Replace.
b) Tighten.
c) Find leak and repair, or replace if necessary.
a) Replace it(them).
