Danger!
A
Cut only stock of dimensions
that permit for safe holding during the
cutting operation.
Use an auxiliary fence when cutting
small cuttings.
Always hold the workpiece down on
the table and do not jam it. Risk of
kickback.
Never cut several workpieces at the
same time – and also no bundles con-
taining several individual pieces. Risk
of personal injury if individual pieces
are caught by the saw blade uncont-
rolled.
Use an appropriate jig when cutting
round stock to keep it from turning.
Replace a blunt blade at once. Risk of
kickback if a blunt tooth gets caught
in the workpiece's surface.
Do not attempt to stop the saw blade
by pushing the workpiece against its
side. Risk of kickback.
Drawing-in/trapping hazard!
c
Do not wear loose clothing,
jewellery, or gloves, which may get
caught and wound up by the revolv-
ing saw blade.
Contain long hair with a hairnet.
Never cut stock with the following
attached:
− ropes,
− strings,
− webbings,
− cables or
− wires
or stock containing such materi-
als.
8.1
Standard cross cuts
Starting position:
− sawhead fully lifted;
− rotating table postioned at 0°, table
lock lever engaged and rotating
table locking screw fully tightened;
− sawhead tilt against the table is 0°,
sawhead tilt lock lever is tightened.
Execution:
1.
Hold workpiece against the fence.
2.
Actuate the blade guard lever – the
retractable blade guards opens.
3.
Press and hold down the On/Off
switch. Hold sawhead at saw handle
and lower it onto the workpiece.
4.
For sawing, exert only so much
downward pressure that the motor
speed does not fall off too much.
16
5.
Cut workpiece in a single pass.
6.
Release On/Off switch and blade
guard lever and return sawhead to
its upper rest position.
8.2
Mitre cuts
3
Note:
With a mitre cut the workpiece is
cut at an angle of -45° to +45° against
the rear guide edge.
Starting position:
− sawhead fully lifted;
− saw blade is in vertical position to
the saw table.
Execution:
1.
Loosen the rotating table locking
screw (35).
Press the table lock lever (36).
2.
35
3.
Set desired angle.
4.
Release table lock lever and tighten
the rotating table locking screw.
3
Note:
If the table lock lever is released,
the rotating table locks at the 45°, 33°,
22,5°, 15° and 0° positive detents.
A
Caution!
To ensure the mitre angle does
not change during cutting, the rota-
ting table locking screw must always
be tightened.
5.
Cut the workpiece as detailed in
"Standard cross cuts".
8.3
Bevel cuts
3
Note:
With a bevel cut the workpiece is
cut at an angle between 0° and 45° to
the vertical axis.
Starting position:
− sawhead fully lifted;
− Rotating table locked in 0° position;
Execution:
(37) Loosen sawhead tilt lock lever
1.
at rear of saw.
37
2.
Tilt sawhead to desired angle.
3.
Tighten lock lever.
4.
Cut the workpiece as detailed in
"Standard cross cuts".
8.4
Compound mitre cuts
3
Note:
A compound mitre cut is the com-
36
bination of mitre and bevel cuts. Here
the workpiece is cut across its width at
an angle other than 90° and at the same
time cut at an angle other than 90° verti-
cal through its surface.
Starting position:
− sawhead fully lifted;
− Set rotating table to desired posi-
tion.
− Tilt sawhead to desired bevel angle.
Execution:
The actual cutting operation is the same
as detailed under "Standard cross cuts".
8.5
Cutting using the track
arm
3
Note:
The track arm makes it possible
to cut wider workpieces (such as pan-
els). The track arms can be used for all
