V. SET UP & USE OF YOUR WHEELCHAIR
R. Foot Tilt Mechanism
1. Tilting Seat Frame
a. Depress foot tilt pedal (Fig. 41:A).
b. Tilt seat frame to desired position while keeping
pedal depressed.
c. Release pedal to lock into place.
2. Cable Adjustment
a. Using two 10mm wrenches, loosen jam nut (Fig.
41:B) while holding adjuster (Fig. 41:C) in place.
Repeat for opposite cable.
b. Adjust cable by twisting adjusters until desired
tension is obtained, ensuring that actuators on
mech locks are not being actuated at all while pedal is released. Ensure that mech locks
slide freely when pedal is depressed.
c. Once desired tension is obtained, hold adjusters in place with wrench and tighten jam nut.
Repeat for both cables.
S. Tilt Stops
1. Tilt Stop Adjustment
a. Remove screws from tilt stops and install onto shaft of mech lock. Reinstall screws, but do
not tighten (Fig. 42:A). Repeat for opposite mech lock.
b. Set chair to desired angle that tilt would like to be limited to.
c. For limiting rearward tilt, slide tilt stop to bottom of mech lock body and tighten into place.
d. For limiting forward tilt, tilt stops may be placed above the body of the mech lock (Fig. 42:B).
When desired angle is achieved, slide tilt stop against top of mech lock body and tighten.
e. Ensure both tilt stops are against their respective mech locks simultaneously.
