PHOTOS 122-123. Make up three gratings (146) and cut them to size as shown in the photo, count the holes and then paint
them red. First glue the frames (147) and then the frames (148) and finally the parts (149 & 150).
PHOTO 124. Glue the parts (151 & 152). And then glue the gratings, centred on the hole left in the quarter deck.
PHOTO 125. Make up the assembly shown in the photo using the parts (146, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157 & 158).
PHOTO 126. Glue the strips (160) onto the part (159), glue the strip (161) onto the edge of the part (159) and then glue the
other part (159) onto the strip (161).
PHOTO 127. Glue the strips (160) onto the part (159). Fit the frames (162) and glue them in place as indicated in the photo.
PHOTO 128. Glue the racks over the holes in the waist and quarter decks and then fit the eyebolts with their rings, as shown in
the photo. Also glue on the ammunition (164).
PHOTO 129. Make up and attach the coamings (165 & 166). Also glue the frames (167 & 168) into place.
PHOTO 130. Attach the hinges (170) to the rudder blade (169) using the pins (A). Cut the hinge pins (171) to size. Attach the
rudder blade to the stern post as shown in the photo.
PHOTO 131. Fit the eyebolts as indicated in the photo and then attach the rudder pendants (172). Using lengths of strip cut to
size make up the gun port covers and attach the hinges (174).
PHOTO 132. Make up the gun port covers gluing the parts (175) centred on the parts (176). Make up and glue the fenders and
their covers using parts (177, 178 & 179).
PHOTO 133. Cut to size the rungs of the ladders (180) and then, using a small file, make the groove, as shown in the photo.
PHOTO 134. With the help of a punch make a notch in the fenders of the head-rails (181) and then attach them to the bow of
the ship, alongside the cleats (182).
PHOTO 135. Make up the ports on the bow deck using parts (174, 183 & 184) along with the pins (A). Glue the heads (185) into
place and make the holes shown in the photo. Fit the head finishes (186) into place.
PHOTOS 136-137. Make up the bow and forecastle side pin racks using the parts (187 & 188) and insert the belaying pins (J).
Also make up the pin racks along the side of the main deck.
PHOTOS 138-139. Fit and glue the figure head into place on the bow of the ship. Using a round file chase the hole for the
bowsprit. Glue the parts (191) together and then sand down and paint the parts (191 & 192), before gluing them to the deck.
Finally chase the hole for the bowsprit again using the round file.
PHOTO 140. Make up the galley by gluing together the parts (193, 194 & 195) and then, using a small file, make the grooves to
simulate brickwork. Paint the kitchen red and fit the reinforcement (196).
PHOTO 141. Glue the chimneys (198) onto the galley hood (197). Frame the hood using the parts (199 & 200). Fit the galley
and the hood, aligned in the area shown in the photo.
PHOTOS 142-143. Make up the pin racks using parts (201, 202, 203 & 204) and then insert the belaying pins (J).
PHOTO 144. Assemble the helm assembly using the parts (205, 206, 207 & 208) and then paint it red.
PHOTO 145. Cut the rungs (211) to size and make up the ladder using the risers (209 & 210).
PHOTO 146. Fit the ladders into place, along with the helm assembly a shown in the photo. Make up the pin rack using the
parts (212 & 213) and then fit it firmly into place.
PHOTOS 147-148. Assemble the bailing pumps using the parts (214, 215 & 216). Use the pins (A) and the eyebolts (B) to
complete them. Paint the pumps red and glue them into place as shown in the photo. Assemble two ladders and another pin
rack, paint them and glue them into place as shown in the photo.
PHOTO 149. Make up the capstan using the parts (217, 218 & 219). Make the necessary holes and then paint it red, with black
stripes. Glue the capstan in place in front of the galley and attach the parts (220) around it.
PHOTO 150. Make up the parts that form the bell assembly (221, 222, 223, 224 & 225). Make up a pin rack using the parts (226
& 227) and attach it behind the galley hood.
PHOTOS 151-153. Make up the gun carriages using the parts (228, 229, 230, 231, 232, 233, 234, 235, 236 & 237). You have to
fit the eyebolts with rings as shown in the photo. Then place the guns on the quarter deck.
PHOTOS 154-156. Make up the gun carriages using the parts (233, 234, 235, 237, 238, 239, 240 & 241). Then place the guns
on the second battery deck.
PHOTOS 157-159. Attach the channels, with the parts (242, 243, 248, 249, 250, 251 & 252). Make up the chain plates using the
parts (244, 245, 246 & 247) along with the clump blocks and blocks (G & H). Then attach the chain plates to the hull. Make a
hole in the centre of the blank behind each of the gun ports of the first battery and attach the gun barrels (257).
PHOTOS 160-162. Using brass wire, make up the parts (253) and attach them to the ship. Fit the railings (254) and then place
the guns (258) of the second battery.
PHOTOS 163-164. Make up the falconet guns using parts (260, 261) and the pins (A). Attach them to the ship using the
supports (259).
PHOTOS 165-166. Make up the lantern using the parts (265, 266, 267, 268, 269, 270 & 271) and then paint the wooden parts
gold. Bend the lantern support and fix it to the stern of the ship.
PHOTO 167. Make up the anchor stocks using the parts (273, 274 & 275) and attach them to the anchors.
