Connecting a Bar code reader
A bar code reader can also be connected to the PC connector.
The type of cable depends on the bar code reader (on the unit side, reception is connected to contact no. 2 and transmission
is connected to contact no. 3).
The contact no. 9 of the PC connector can be used to supply a bar code reader with 5V 100mA max. power.
It is recommended to disconnect the bar code reader before recharging the battery.
Note: On the former units which do not have this 5V power supply, the 7.2V battery voltage can be obtained using contact
no. 5 of the "Input / Output" connector (contact 4 = 0V).
Input / Output connector
Inputs:
pin no. 9 : Reset / Save: the measurement is saved and the display is reset (same as
pin no. 1 : Reset / No save: The display is reset and the measurement is not saved.
Inputs enabled on level between 5 and 24V (with respect to the earthing - pin no. 4).
Input impedance: 560 KOhm.
Outputs:
Open collector type with recovery diode (100mA per output as a maximum)

- pin no. 13: Accept report
- pin no. 14: max. report
- pin no. 15: target torque processed by an external device
- pin no. 11: common of recovery diodes for inductive loads
