IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
<< The machine may not be operated by more
than one person at any given time!
The machine was designed for safe operation
by "one person only".
<< During the shredding process no other
work may be performed on the machine
(for example cleaning, etc.)!
<< The machine is not a toy, and is not suitable
for use by children!
The overall technical safety concept of
this machine (dimensions, feed openings,
emergency shutdown devices etc.) does not
provide for any guarantee regarding hazard-
free operation by children.
<< Repairs may only be performed by trained
personnel!
EXPLANATION OF THE CONTROLS:
1 = Function switch (fig. 1)
(on / off / reverse)
This switch is for the following functions:
- position „ "
machine is ready for operation
- position „ "
machine is switched off
- position „ "
cutting blades are reversing
2 = Light barrier (forward running) (fig. 2)
The shredding operation starts as soon
as material is fed into one of the two feed
slots.
3 = Pilot lamp (fig. 1)
a) GREEN – „ready"
Lights when the pushbutton switch (1) is
operated (position „ ").
b) RED – „receptacle full"
(1000C / 2000C)
Lights when the receptacle is full and
needs to be emptied. At the same time
the machine switches off automatically.

with the mains switch, or with the emer-
gency switch, or unplug the machine!

OPERATION
4 = Pilot lamp "material jam" (fig. 1)
Lights when too much material is fed to the
cutters. The cutting system blocks and stops.
The motor is switched off.
5 = Pilot lamp "motor overload" (fig. 1)
Lights up if the motor is overloaded. The
machine cannot be started again until the
motor has cooled down.
The shredder may not be used as a step
ladder or as a seat. Danger of falling
due to breakage!
MATERIAL FEED:
- Turn the function switch (1) (fig. 1) in position „
". The pilot lamp (3) (fig. 1) lights up (green).
Feeding paper
- Feed the paper into the cutting system through
the paper feed slot (6) (fig. 2).
Feeding data media
- Feed the data media (CDs, DVDs or credit
cards) into the cutting system one by one th-
rough the separate CD/DVD(CARD) feed slot
(7) (fig. 2).

INITIATION
SCOPE OF APPLICATION:
The intimus 1000S / 1000C // intimus 2000S /
2000C data shredder is designed for shredding
general printed material and data media such as
CDs, DVDs and credit cards.
This machine should only be used for
shredding paper and credit cards. The
models 2000S and 2000C can also be
used to shred CDs and DVDs!
Any attempt to shred other types of data
medium may result in damage to the
machine (e.g. destruction of the cutting
mechanism etc.).
INSTALLATION:
- Unpack and set machine upright.
- Plug in the machine (for instructions for the
necessary precautions see „TECHNICAL
DATA").
The socket outlet shall be installed
near the equipment and shall be easily
accessible!
Only operate the machine in enclosed
rooms at temperatures between 10°C
and 25°C!
OPERATION
- The machine automatically switches to forward
running and pulls the material in. The machine
switches off again automatically when shredding
is completed.
Never feed the shredder with a quantity
of material exceeding the maximum
indicated. Refer to the TECHNICAL
DATA section!
Should the machine become overloaded,
follow the instructions under "MATERIAL
JAM IN MACHINE" under "MALFUNC-
TIONS".
EMPTYING THE RECEPTACLE (Fig. 3):
When the shredded material becomes visible in
the "receptacle full" window (8) (fig. 3) it is time
to empty the receptacle.
Proceed as follows:
- Remove the receptacle from in front of the
machine and empty its contents.
- Replace the empty receptacle under the machine
and push all the way to the back.
Note: The machine will only run when the recepta-
cle is pushed completely under the machine.
